    Burger Battle

Boys & Girls Clubs of the CSRA

    4th Annual GREAT Burger Battle

At the GREAT Burger Battle, we challenge local eateries to prove their culinary acumen in a battle to win "Best Burger". Each Spring, Augusta’s top chefs step into the ring and test their skills at the grill in a heated challenge to knockout the competition and win the title of Burger Battle Heavyweight Champion. We invite you and your friends to come sample their ingenious interpretations of the traditional burger and CAST YOUR VOTE FOR THE WINNER! And did we mention? Evander Holyfield, World Heavyweight Boxing Champion and Boys & Girls Club Alumni will join us as a guest speaker.

The GREAT Burger Battle is a recipe for success, not only for Boys & Girls Clubs, but for the Augusta community. As our kids continue to engage in programs that work, they are avoiding risky behaviors that burden the community and maturing as responsible young citizens. Through adherence to our Club values of service, achievement, and responsibility, our kids are building within themselves strong foundations of self-reliance and accountability and a stronger community for us all.

    WITH SPECIAL GUEST

    EVANDER HOLYFIELD

Four-time world heavyweight boxing champion Evander Holyfield first stepped into the ring at the Warren Unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta when he was 8 years old. Three years later, he qualified to compete in his first Junior Olympics. Through an honorary membership, he continued to box at the Club until making the 1984 U.S. Olympic team at age 21. Through wins and losses, Holyfield never forgot the lessons he learned at the Club; he has given back to the cause that helped get him started in life by donating $1 million to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta.
